Richard C. Manchester

Richard Charles Manchester, 86, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, went to Heaven the morning of Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in the comfort of his home. With his loving daughter, Susanne Manchester (Johnafa), grandchildren Shanisha Lee (Tiya), Sandra Litherland (Kyle), and Michael Manchester, and great grandchild Sean Manchester by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday (4/27) in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Mortuary. Richard was born on September 5, 1934 in Davenport to the late Maurice and Thelma Manchester. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Bonnee M. Manchester (Arps), on July 5, 1959 in Davenport.

Richard retired after 26 years from Bendix Corporation and he spent four years as co-owner of Modern Machine and Tool. Richard enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, Christmas, and he was the best handyman ever. Richard was patient, kind, and loving. Most of all, Richard enjoyed spending his life with his wonderful wife of 52 years, Bonnee Manchester.

Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Susanne Manchester (Johnafa); son, Terry Manchester (Cheryl); and sister Ellen (William) Stradt. Richard has nine grandchildren, Sandra Litherland (Kyle), Michael Manchester (Gabrielle), Shanisha Lee (Tiya), Matthew Manchester, Diane Manchester, Jason Manchester, and Alison Manchester. Richard also has six great grandchildren, Sean Manchester, Brayden and Salena Litherland, Sophia Manchester, Deshawn and Amara Manchester.

Richard is preceded in death by his loving and beautiful wife, Bonnee Manchester. Along with two of their loving sons, Charles R. Manchester and Brian D. Manchester, and two granddaughters, Jennifer Manchester and Chasity Manchester.
