Richard T. Omahen, 73, of Bettendorf, passed away unexpectedly at his home. Per his wishes cremation will take place. Inurnment will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.
Richard was born on July 30, 1951 in Evanston, IL to Edward and Mary Ellen (Theby) Omahen. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1969. Richard went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Creighton University. For over 30 years he was employed at Genesis Medical Center as an Environmental Service Aide. He was a valued employee and will be dearly missed by his co-workers. A memorial service is planned at Genesis Medical Center for the staff and family.
Richard was a lifelong dedicated Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. His love of sports led to years of playing baseball and lifting weights.
Survivors include his partner of many years, Deb Hurley, sisters, Mary Alice Omahen, Seattle, Karen (Larry) Murante, Seattle, Cheryl Johnson, Overland Park, KS and his niece, Margo Johnson of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
