

Richard Allen Ralfs, 67, of Walcott, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 5th, 2021 at his farm. Private family services will be held at The Runge Mortuary. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park at a later date.
Rick was born February 12th, 1954 to Robert and Celesta (Rudluff) Ralfs in Davenport, Iowa. He united in marriage to Debra Anne Dorton on October 9th,1976 at Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa.
Rick enjoyed raising his two daughters and spending time with his wife and family. He cherished his time spent with his 5 grandchildren and his many dogs over the years. In his spare time he enjoyed turkey and deer hunting with family and friends, mushroom hunting with his wife, golfing with family and friends, fishing, motorcycling, writing love notes to his wife on paper plates, and texting his children frequently.
He graduated from Saint Ambrose University with honors and he retired from UPS after 34 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Debbie of 45 years, his two daughters Holly (Benjamin) Cole of Durant, Iowa and Jessica (Christopher) Bell of Princeton, Iowa; his grandchildren Wyatt and Sydney Cole and Carter, Aubrey, and Cody Bell; his sister Diana (Ron) Iossi of Eldridge, Iowa; his sister-in-law’s Carolyn Ralfs, Pamela Templeton of Blue Grass, Iowa and Diane (Jon) Robken of Davenport, Iowa; his brother-in-law’s Donald (Liz) Dorton of Davenport, Iowa, Steve Watt of Davenport, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Celesta Ralfs, two brothers Larry and Jeffery Ralfs, nephew Scott Ralfs, mother and father-in-law Fredrick and Nancy Dorton, sister-in-law Kathy Watt, and brother-in-law Randy Templeton.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the first responders from Walcott and Durant, Medic personnel from Davenport, Iowa, Scott County Sheriff’s, the Scott County Medical Examiner and the staff from The Runge Mortuary.
