Robert M. Guile

Robert M. Guile, 84, of Davenport passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at ManorCare on Utica Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from11 am-1pm on Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. He was born February 8, 1929 in Illinois City, Illinois, a son of George and Hattie (Spangler) Guile. A US Army veteran, he served both in World War II and one and a half years in Korea. On January 7, 1950 he married Vivian Gott in Davenport. He was a good person, who enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Vivian; children Robert (Tammy) Guile, Sheila (Kenny) Nolan, Nancy (Lynn) Klunder, Lana McLary and Terry Guile; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Barbara Benson and Mary Noll and brother Alan (Alexandra) Guile. He was preceded in death by his son, George; his parents; siblings Arthur Guile and Jacob Guile, Frances Jackson, Juanita Comstock, Mildred Black, Ruth Wilkens and Lois Baker.
