Robert N. Wheeler, 65, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Robert was born on October 20, 1950 in Davenport, IA, a son of David Ross and Sadie (Smith) Wheeler, Jr. He was employed at the Friendly House in Davenport for 20 years. He was an avid stock car race fan and enjoyed putting model cars together as a hobby. Survivors include brothers, Thomas R. (Charlotte) Wheeler and Bruce A. (Barb) Wheeler; sisters, Linda M. Stevens, Sandra K. (Steve) Dau and Katherine A. (Fran) Eder and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David R. Wheeler III and John Charles Wheeler; sister, Connie Lynn Wheeler and brother-in-law, Don Stevens.
