Cremation will be done with a private memorial service at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. He will be laid to rest with military honors in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Memorials may be made to Donka, Inc. or the Recreation Department for the DuPage Care Foundation, both at 400 N. County Farm Rd. Wheaton, IL 60187. Ron was born on December 17, 1935, in Oak Park, IL to Carl & Sarah Louise (Shelton) Reinecke. He attended & graduated from York High School Elmhurst, IL and then went on to attend & graduate from Elmhurst College. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Rupp on April 13, 1957. They had two children, Mark & Erik. He then married Jayne Baker on January 25, 1992, they later divorced and remained good friends.
Ron was a veteran of the US Army having served as a Psychologist Clinical Specialist during the Korean Conflict, 1957 to 1959. Upon his discharge, he worked in a 3,000 bed Tuberculosis hospital in the Chicago area for two years before taking his job at the DuPage Convalescent Center. Ron worked for 37 years at the DuPage Care Center retiring in 2000 as the administrator. He was very proud of his initiative to support Donka, Inc. which provides technology & computer training for disabled DuPage County residents.
Survivors include former wife, Jayne Baker; 2 sons Mark (Julie) Reinecke & Erik (Heather) Reinecke; 5 grandchildren, Alexa (Nick Charleton), Jack, Ben, Hope, & Rachel Reinecke; sister, Donna Elliott; brother, Robert Reinecke; & sister-in-laws, Jill Slyter, Glenn Sydlowski, Jody & Jim Laughery, Julie & David Schneck, Ginny & Dave Harper.
