Rose M. Waters

Rose M. Waters, 55, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Genesis West Medical Center. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12:00 pm noon at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Rose was born in Meridian, Mississippi on April 19, 1960; the daughter of Harvest and Maggie (Payton) Westerfield. She graduated from Central High School in 1979 and from St. Ambrose University with her Bachelor’s Degree. She married Gary Waters on May 1, 1999. She loved to swim, ride her bike, math, playing volleyball and listening to old music (She’s a bad mama jama!) She had worked most recently for the YMCA and the City of Davenport. She was a good person and had a big heart. She always was willing to help others, regardless of her circumstances. She loved to have fun, dance and sing and was always the life of the party. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Gary; children: Saterica Westerfield, Robert Gibbs and Katie Waters; sisters: Helen Easley; Mary (Reggie) Reed, Patricia (Willie) Morrow and Mauricia Westerfield; brothers: Hardy Lee and Lonnie (Constance) Ray; grandchildren, Taylor Westerfield and grandsons Anthony and Alfonzo Gibbs and special niece, Jamie Westerfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Addie Nunn, Edna McDonald; Barbara Westerfield and brothers, Harvest Monroe, Henry and Alfonzo Westerfield.
