Ruth M. Stremlow

Memorial services for Ruth M. Stremlow, 93, of Davenport will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Mrs. Stremlow passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport. Ruth Margaret Head was born in Thornberg, IA on June 6, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Lora (Shaw) Head. On December 27, 1945, she married Oscar Stremlow in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death in 1985. First and foremost in Ruth’s life was her faith in God and the love she had for her family. Whether going out to eat, going shopping, or sitting around the table drinking coffee with family and friends, she enjoyed spending time with those around her. Ruth had a kind heart and never passed up a chance to help those in need. She was also member of Christian Center Church in Davenport. She is survived by three Daughters: Jan Stremlow of Davenport, Joanne Stremlow of Davenport, Joni Badzinski of Orlando, FL; two Sons: Jim Stremlow of Davenport, John Stremlow of Oklahoma City, OK; 35 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren, including her immediate Grandchildren: Michelle (Joseph) Justus of Davenport Missy Stremlow and Jimmy Joe Stremlow, both of Davenport, and Tammi (Gary) Warren of Blue Grass, IA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Bunnell and Robert Stremlow; a sister, Madeline Head; and two brothers, Robert Head and Cecil Head.
