RuthAnn Mertl

RuthAnn Mertl, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the snowy morning of February 3, 2026. A Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, IA. She will be laid to rest privately in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist in funding a memorial golf outing to be announced at a later date.

RuthAnn was born February 22,1949 in Davenport to Joseph F. and Ila (McKown) Mertl.

She retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1999 after many years of service.

RuthAnn was a fun - loving woman who enjoyed having fun with her friends and gambling. She loved spending time with her daughters as well as golfing, gardening, and her animals.

She is survived by her daughters, Leslie (Randy Bare) Trego- Bare and Lynn Phillips; grandchildren, Justin (Dustin) Bare- Aston, Haley Bare, Zander Bare, Aubrey Vogt, Brennan Vogt, Allison Vogt- Alkabsh, Xavier Phillips, and Journey Phillips; great granddaughter, Iyla Rose Alkabsh.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
