I remember Steve from school always happy and a good friend. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. RIP dear friend.

I was a close friend of Steve's older brother Larry, who was born around 1947.  We didn't hang out together but we'd chat when I visited them at home in Coyne Center, IL.  His mother was Francis and his father Carroll, both really nice folks.  Carroll worked in security at Oscar Mayer in Davenport,IA. He had been a carpet layer in his earlier years. Larry Became a carpet mechanic after doing a couple years U.S. Army, where the bombs took away some of his hearing and malaria a good deal of his health for a few years.  I remember Steve driving us over to McDonalds in his first car; a well worn Camaro. Larry passed away in Arizona late 1977. I knew cousins and uncles too and got back in touch with Steve around 2009.  Sad to see old pals go. R.I.P. Steve. 

I was a close friend of Steve's older brother Larry (whom everyone knew as Frog).  Never hung out with Steve much except at their house in Coyne Center, before and after Viet Nam.  I remember when he got his first car, a Camaro, and drove us over to the McDonalds on 11th street.
I just tagged up with Steve a couple years ago; one thing that FaceBook is good for. I didn't know he was sick. RIP my friend  

Though we didn't see each other again after my family moved in the middle of our sophomore year, Steve was once very dear to me. I hope he had a good life. 
My deepest sympathy to his family.

Amy and Krista I am so sorry for the loss of your father.  I hope that you had the chance to make many happy memories with your children and him. My prayers for all your comfort at this difficult time. 

My sisters and I thank you all for your kind words and fond memories of our dad.  We miss him deeply as do his grandchildren, sister, neices and nephew, and friends.  He truly was memorable and will never be forgotten.  We plan to have a Celebration of Life for him when the weather gets warmer so we can celebrate him and his memory in a way he would appreciate.

I played in a little garage band with Steve for a couple of years. We got to be pretty good friends and I used to do sleep overs at his house. His folks always made me feel welcome.
We always had a lot of fun with little sleep, but lots of laughs.
I lost touch with Steve after high school, and this is the first news of him I have heard since then. I am both surprised and saddened.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He lived 2 doors down from us and I remember going to his house many times and he treated me like a little brother. His parents were great people too, salt of the Earth. Steve made a lot of friends over his lifetime, as he was a kind and sometimes ornery kid, with a zest for life. He will be missed! R.I.P. Steve

We went to school with Steve then years later we were neighbors.  We are saddened to hearing of his passing.   He was a nice guy.   Let the happy times with Steve get you through  this time of sorrow.

Steve and his family were like a second family.  Red and Frances always treated you like one of their own.  Steve had a big heart,  and was always kind to everyone.   He was good for creating a good laugh, and a little good mischief.  Steve will be missed by everyone who knew him.  RIP Froggy!                     Gary and Jan

Steve and I grew up in the same neighborhood and went all through school together. I remember him well. Rest in Peace Steve. 

I went to school with Steve from the 1st grade till we graduated. 
Always liked him, a good guy.  Haven’t seen him for yrs, but thought about him different times.  Sorry to hear he’s gone.  RIP Steve!
                             

Steve and his family were neighbors. I lived two houses down from them. I remember his dad, Red, installing carpet for my parents. I was their paper girl for a while too. I remember their dog Puddles and how he would get his own scoop of vanilla ice cream when the ice cream truck came by. Steve was like an older brother to me. He will be missed.
