

Steven Britcher, 60, of Davenport, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 after an extended illness. Private family services were held at the Runge Mortuary. Online condolences can be left at www.therungemortuary.com. Memorials may be left to the family.
He was born September 23, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Henry and Betty (Yerington) Britcher. Steve was a hard worker. He was employed at MidAmerican Energy for 34 years, being a lineman for 23 years. For the last eleven years he was a sub-station lab tech in Rock Island, IL. He was also an experienced carpenter.
He was united in marriage to Connie McCleary on May 23, 1987 in Davenport, Iowa. Steve enjoyed hunting, photography, music, and riding and giving rides in his Ultra Classic Harley with a side car. One of his favorite times of the year was going to Muscatine on Christmas Eve, singing and visiting with all his extended family. Along with his wife, he was a certified reflexologist and Nature’s Sunshine Manager. As a family, they traveled to conventions all over the United States. They traveled overseas, traveling many days on ships, visiting Jamaica, Hawaii, and many countries in Europe. He also thoroughly enjoyed the many vacations to Estes Park, CO. You could tell they had a good time because of the stories they told: about fishing, hiking, amusement parks and playing cards - - memories of good times.
Steve was friendly to everyone and would strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger. Above all, Steve was a family man. He adored his family, and will be missed so much.
Steven is survived by his wife, Connie; one son, Archie (Riviera) Britcher; daughters Katie Britcher and Sara (Josh) Terry; one brother, George (TJ) Britcher; grandchildren: Morgan, Jillian, Logen and Serenity, along with many other special family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Hank, and an infant son, Steven Jr.
