A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In his honor, please wear your Viking’s gear or purple to the services. Memorials may be made to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Steven was born on July 5, 1957, the son of Harris and Dolores (Hayne) Carman in Davenport, IA. He graduated in 1975 from Central High School, Davenport. Steven worked at Eagle’s Food until the store closed, and later at Village Inn and Farm and Fleet for many years.
Steven was a simple man who enjoyed bicycling, fishing, and going on trips to Colorado with his uncle, John, and other trips to Ely, MN with uncle, Jack and cousin, Mike Horton. He was also an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Lori (Monte) Brown; nephew, Nickolas (Aspen) VanHoorebeck; two bonus nephews, Jeremy and Bob VanHoorebeck; great niece, Charley VanHoorebeck; and great nephew, Beckham VanHoorebeck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
