Tammy Lorraine LaFollette of Davenport, Iowa passed away at UW Hospital in Madison, WI on September 22, 2018. Funeral services will be held at Runge Mortuary, Davenport, on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with a one-hour visitation before the service. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, September 30, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Quad-City Animal Welfare Center. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Tammy was born in Davenport on December 2, 1963, the youngest of five children, to Buzz and Barbara (Kirk) Loving. She was raised in a house full of love and laughter on Davenport’s west end, and she remained a proud west-ender her entire life. In adulthood, she became the caretaker for both of her parents as they aged. On September 6, 2008, she married the love of her life and best friend, Jeff LaFollette. The two shared many interests including bowling, hockey, antiquing, traveling, and just spending time together. They eventually discovered trivia contests, and ultimately became part of a trivia dream team that was (and is) virtually unbeatable. Tammy and Jeff loved to travel by car around the Midwest, and both were members of the Lincoln Highway Association and the Quad-City Mustang Club. Tammy particularly loved northern Wisconsin, and especially Chippewa Falls where she and Jeff made an annual trek for the Oktoberfest. A lover of all animals, particularly cats, Tammy often took in strays to save them from their harsh lives outdoors. Much of her time was devoted to their care. She called them her “kids,” and she loved to keep her family informed of their exploits and shenanigans. Her family and network of friends will remember Tammy’s raucous sense of humor and her big, infectious laugh that could brighten a room. She was a dear wife, friend, daughter, sister, grandmother, and aunt, and she will be missed. Survivors include her husband, brothers-Geoff (Vicki) Loving, Merle Loving, Brett (Katrina) Loving, in-laws, Bob and Barb LaFollette, Matt LaFollette, step-daughter-Diana (Greg) Ruetz, two grandchildren- Brayden and Ashtyn Ruetz, numerous cousins, nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents-Merle and Myrtle Kirk, Orval Loving, Sr. and Irma Blake, her aunt-Dorothy Jack, and her sister-Denise Williamson.
