Todd Edward Smith

Todd Edward Smith, 58, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away on July 14, 2025 at UnityPoint Trinity Bettendorf Medical Center. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a casual visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Weerts Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably — just as Todd would have wanted. Todd was born on February 10, 1967, in Rock Island, Illinois, to parents Donna (Hinds) and Harold Smith. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1986 and started working at Gypsum Supply Company in 1988, now known as FBM, Foundation Building Materials. Todd remained with the company for over 37 years. He was a dedicated employee who truly enjoyed his job and, most especially, the crew he worked with.

Outside of work, Todd liked watching NASCAR and fishing with his lifelong friend, Monty. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his sons and being involved in their activities. Todd was friendly, easy to talk to, and well-liked by everyone who knew him.

Those left to remember Todd include his two beloved sons, Ethan and Carter Smith; brother, Greg (Anitra) Smith; nephews, Nick (Knikki) and Connor Smith; great-nephews, Bryant and Maddox Smith; lifetime friend Monty (Gwen) Halsey, and many loving aunts and cousins.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents.
