

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2:30pm at Rock Island National Cemetery, processing from Runge Mortuary at 2:00pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Warren was born May 6, 1920 in Wyoming, Iowa to Warren N. and Ruby (Cook) Weasmer. He was united in marriage to his wife of 52 years, Geraldine Malone on October 17, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri, she preceded him in death on August 28, 1994.
Warren served in the US Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant Agent in the Counter Intelligence Corps. European Theatre and then as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserve for 5 years. He was a mail carrier with the US Postal Service for 35 years, retiring in 1977. He then worked 6 years with the Davenport School System.
He was active in numerous clubs, including 50 years with the Masonic Lodge #221 and Davenport Moose Lodge, Mohassen Grotto, National Association of Letter Carriers, NARF, CASI, Davenport Elks, Davenport Eagles, Retired Eagles, Davenport American Legion, and AARP.
Survivors include daughter, Penny Turkle of Durant, IA; daughter-in-law, Chris Weasmer of Mackinaw, IL; 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Pam) Turkle and Christopher (Beth) Turkle; step-grandchild, Jacki (Jim Moss) Hankins; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Rick Weasmer; son-in-law, Wayne Turkle; sister, Gail Peer; brother-in-law, Dave Peer; and special friend, Irene Dellitt.
First we lost a warrior and a patriot. Rest in peace.
