Wayne K. Leonard

Wayne K. Leonard, 72, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to MDA/ ALS. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Wayne was born July 5, 1941 in Iowa City, IA; the son of Joel and Ella (Rohrssen) Leonard. He was united in marriage to Paulette Ewoldt on July 21, 1962 in Rock Island, IL. He retired from Caterpillar and HWH Corporation. He is a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. In his earlier years, he served in the Boy Scouts and Dads Club. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards at the Roosevelt Senior Center; his greatest joy is his family. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Paulette; sons: Kenneth (Lisa) Leonard, Davenport; David (Cathy) Leonard, Bettendorf and Craig (Nikki) Leonard, Davenport; grandchildren: Michelle (Aaron) Clark, Davenport; Stephen (Katie Meyer) Leonard, Virginia Beach, VA; Victoria Leonard, Davenport; Petty Officer 2nd Class, Mitchell Leonard, San Diego, CA; Tyler (Sarah Pingel) Leonard, Davenport and Robert Leonard, Bettendorf; great grandchildren: Trent and Henry Clark and Kylee Leonard; brothers and sisters: Joel Leonard, Ocala, FL; Connie Robins, Ocala, FL; Harold (Lucy) Leonard, San Antonio, TX; Bessie (Mike) Deason, Columbia, MO; Louise Zumwalt, Davenport; Mary (Pete) Cram, Hallsville, MO and Pat (Ray) Parsons, Columbia, MO; aunt, Betty Liggett, Algona, IA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Wyatt. Wayne’s family would like to thank MDA for all they have done for him!
