

Wayne E. Wilming, 86, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. Per Wayne’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private family graveside service will be held. He will be laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made in Wayne’s name to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Wayne was born on February 27, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa to Elmer and Marcella (Roling) Wilming. On June 20, 1959, in Fort Knox, Kentucky he was united in marriage to Judith A. Thormann. They have enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Wayne served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962. While in the Army, he was stationed in Germany with his younger brother, met his lifelong best friend and had his eldest son. After the Army, he worked at Alcoa for 30 years as a machine operator retiring in 1997. Post-retirement, he enjoyed a number of years as a groundskeeper at Duck Creek Park.
Wayne was a man of many talents. This included everything from restoring classic cars to building his dream lake house. Wayne also enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, eating at McDonald’s and spending time with family and friends. He was a dedicated, loving and compassionate man. He especially enjoyed attending car shows and all the adventures he had while traveling with the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy; sons, Rodger (Renée) Wilming, Mark (Amy) Wilming; grandsons, Andrew Wilming, Michael Wilming; siblings, Harold Wilming and Jane Plantz.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Nick Wilming, Mary K. Martin, Diane Brekke, Susie Boyce and Bonnie Hughes.
