

Was born February 28, 1925 in Elgin, ND to August and Matilda Finck. Curtis grew up in North Dakota and in 1945 joined the US Army where he served until his discharge in 1946 at Ft. Lewis, WA. On June 1, 1952 he married Sylvia Bartalamay in Odessa, WA and they farmed and raised their family. Sylvia passed away in 1998 and Curtis continued to live in Odessa until his death on August 21, 2014. He is survived by four children Nancy Gillen, Gary (and Kristi) Finck, Brad Finck and Melanie (and Steve) Miller along with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He has one brother Leroy Finck and four sisters Norma Nelson, Ruth Renken, Hilda Renken and Bernice Mueller along with several nieces and nephews. Curtis is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Finck in 1998 and a grandson Joel Finck and three brothers Solly, Edgar, August and two sisters Elma and Edna. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and active in the church and choir, Odessa VFW and the soil conservation. Curtis enjoyed farming, fishing, gardening, woodworking and traveling, loved music and could play the harmonica and guitar. Mr. Finck will lie-in-state at the Christ Lutheran Church on Wednesday morning August 27, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church, Odessa, WA with Pastor Mark Squire, officiating.
