

Gale “Putt” Gardner, 72, of Lind, Washington, passed away on January 28, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished papa, beloved uncle, and dear brother who prioritized family above all.
Gale was born to Lester and Joyce (Andersen) Gardner on July 28, 1952, in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Wilbur High School in 1970 and Spokane Community College in 1976 with an Associate’s Degree in Carpentry and Cabinetry.
On February 23, 1985, Gale married Jean (Clark), and together, they shared nearly 40 years of love and companionship while raising their family. He was a doting papa to 13 grandchildren and a nurturing presence to his many nieces and nephews. Gale's dedication to his family was evident in every aspect of his life.
Gale worked for numerous construction companies before moving to Lind in 1990. His professional life was marked by his unwavering commitment to the Lind and Ritzville School Districts, where he worked for 29 years. After retiring, he continued to create cherished memories with his loved ones, running “Papa Daycare” and camping at “the property” whenever possible.
Gale found immense joy in playing his bass guitar, cheering for the Mariners, coaching youth baseball, leading Cub Scouts, watching his kids and grandkids play sports, and serving as a volunteer firefighter. His infectious smile, kindness, humor, and generosity had a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Gale is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his children Amy (Aaron) Watson, Kelsey (Rodney) Kramer, Zach (Karissa) Gardner, and Kayla (Steven) Jaurez; his grandchildren Tayler, Logan, Levi, Mariah, Makenah, Kacen, Kaiser, Lucas, Odin, Lincoln, Stella, and Sawyer; his brother Rod (Joan) Gardner; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Joyce Gardner, and his beloved granddaughter, Mylah.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 8, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Lind Grade School Gym. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
