Passed away on November 17, 2011 in Spokane, WA. He was born on April 7, 1926 in Spokane, WA to Charles and Margaret (Bonner) Ives. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was also a member of the Davenport Sr. Center, Creston Alumni Association, Farragut Reunion, USS California, and was the first maintenance man at the Creston Cemetery. He enjoyed his time in the Navy. He also enjoyed mowing lawns, harvest, tinkering with things, and Christmas music. He is survived by his wife, Verla, at the home in Davenport, WA, eight children: Jerry “Butch” and Arlou Ives of Creston, WA, Sandra “Chrissy” and Mike Christensen of Spokane, WA, Mary and Jerry Guhlke of Deep Creek, WA, Carrie and Kevin Wisenor of Nine Mile, WA, Becky and Nick Gusa of El Paso, TX, Tommy and Jo Thompson of Spokane, WA, Bill and Judy Burger of Davenport, WA, and Annette and Sam Marz of Long Lake, WA. He is also survived by17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, one brother, Roger Jacky of Deer Park, WA, two sisters, Vivian Owens and Neil of Spokane Valley, WA and Sharon Piper of Spokane, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Sr. Center, Lincoln Nursing Home, to the Creston Alumni Association, or to the Inland NW Honor Flight, 608 W. 2nd, Ste 309, Spokane, WA 99201.
