Jamie grew up a typical happy country kid with his older brother Bart as they split time between Spokane and Odessa. Jamie loved riding 4-wheelers & motorcycles, shooting guns, driving tractors, wheat trucks, and combines on the farm, hot summer days boating with family on Lake Roosevelt, along with riding bikes to the Odessa pool, and just plain being a kid with no reservations..
At the age of seven, Jamie and his brother along with their mother and her husband Jim moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Sue would go on to earn her degree in dentistry and while in Cleveland, Jamie discovered competitive swimming. As Jamie's affection for the sport grew it became obvious that Jamie was a fiercely talented swimmer..
Jamie and his family returned to Washington state in 1990 and resided in Kirkland for a year and then Bellingham for 3 years. Eventually the family settled in Cheney in 1994 where Jamie finished his final 2 years of high school. Jamie swam for the Blackhawks and competed at the state level during both of those years. Jamie earned his diploma and graduated from Cheney high school in 1996. While in high school Jamie developed a love for mechanics as he rebuilt the engine on his beloved 1971 Ford Mustang..
It was clear Jamie was a very skilled mechanic so naturally Jamie pursued a degree at Wyoming Technical Institute and graduated a diesel mechanic in 1997. Not long after college Jamie would move to Portland, Oregon where he would spend the next 17 years working in his trade as a diesel mechanic. During those years he would start a family and his son JJ was born…
Jamie returned home to Cheney in 2014 where he took a job with Carrier. Four years later in 2018 Jamie acquired a better opportunity with Thermo King and changed employment. In that same year JJ joined Jamie in Cheney to live full time. Jamie deeply desired to have his son with him and closer to family and friends. Jamie considered it a huge answer to prayer to have JJ in Cheney with him and to raise JJ in his hometown.
JJ was everything to Jamie.
