After a 10-year battle against cancer, Judith Ann Iverson passed away the afternoon of December 23, 2015. Judy was born to Bill and Lucile Iverson at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane WA. on May 3rd in 1947. She joined big brother David and was later joined by her sister Sandy and little brothers Larry and Norman as the family thrived on their farm south of Lamona, WA.
Judy attended Odessa schools and graduated from Odessa High School in 1965. She then attended Concordia College in Portland, OR. and graduated in 1967, after which she continued her education at Concordia Teacher's College in Seward, Nebraska. She left Seward after a year to move back to the farm. She completed her Bachelor Degree at Eastern Washington College in 1970 after which she moved to Spokane to work at Spokane Public Library system and various other jobs, usually holding two jobs at a time. In 1985, Judy started working part-time at the Odessa Hospital and continued until her health necessitated retirement in 2005. She was 5 months short of 20 years at Odessa Hospital but was proud that they graciously gave her a 20-year pin. She was involved with the Odessa Community Ministerial Association, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Odessa Kinder Care, Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Thrivent Financial.
Some highlights in her life were seeing sites such as Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone on her travel with her Mom and Dad to Seward Nebraska, a two week trip to Israel and Rome, and taking her niece Dawn Iverson to Disneyland during Dawn's senior year of high school. Judy was definitely a Disney fan! Another highlight was once again joining her Mom and Dad on a trip to Three Forks, Montana for niece Dawn husband’s, Dan, first installment as a Lutheran pastor.
