Papa Richard, I’ll never forget the first time Leslie took me home to meet you; I was intimidated and impressed. From that day in 1984, until the day we shot pool together at our cabin’s clubhouse in 2019, I appreciated every time we were together. And thank you for spending the week with Leslie while the cabin was re-roofed. You were the best father-in-law ever, and a top-notch Grandpa to JB, Samantha and Jordan. I don’t know if I’ll ever meet someone who has a bigger heart than you. Dick, you created quite a legacy. We’ll cherish ever memory forever. Love and miss you.

I needed to include in my first post. Dick and I always exchanged Christmas cards or notes to each other. He never failed to sign "Always a Friend" and now I say, "Forever a Friend Dick", Johnnie.
May God Bless!

Dick was a special man to me, not only as an outstanding fast pitch softball pitcher but a man that would take the shirt off his back to help you. He was kind, soft spoken, humorous and gentle. He was an excellent fabrication technician while at Altus AFB, OK where we first met. His wife, Ruth and two girls Arlene and Leslie were dear friends to my family. While flying for Southwest Airlines I had several occasions to overnight in Spokane. Dick would always meet me at the airport and we go out eat have a beer then he would show me around the town. I could tell many stories about Dick while at Altus however, I do not have the time and space here. He will be surely missed. My condolences to Arlene and Shirley and to the rest of their families.
