Shawn Michael Maurer

Shawn Michael Maurer, 36 years of age from Davenport Washington has gone to be with our Lord on April 15, 2012. Shawn was born in Davenport WA, on May 6th, 1975 to Gary and Lynn Maurer. Shawn attended Harrington High School graduating in 1993 and Eastern Washington University where he received his degree in education in 2000. With Shawn's special gift and passion he dedicated the last 10 years of his life to children.

Shawn enjoyed bowling, traveling, horse shoes, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Shawn is survived by his parents Gary and Lynn Maurer, sisters Jennifer and Jeff Omlin and Katie and Andy Taylor, grandparents Margaret Maurer and Trudy Heimbigner, nieces Zoe and Rylee Omlin and many more family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Davenport Middle School gymnasium. A reception will be held to celebrate Shawn's life at the Davenport-Edwall United Methodist Church, Davenport, WA. Mr. Mauer will lie-in-state at Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Davenport School District for a new score table for the high school or a bench for the grade school.
