Janet Waller Woudenberg, a beacon of unwavering love and gentle wisdom, graced this world with her presence for 77 noble years. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, on April 25, 1948, Janet carried the lessons of her childhood through a life marked by compassion and service, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
With a heart as wide as her intellect, Janet found her calling in the healing arts. Earning her Registered Nurse certification from St. Mary's Nursing School and later a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she tirelessly dedicated herself to the care of others. As an Oncology Nurse, Janet's empathy and expertise shone brightly in the clinic she both operated and where she conducted research. Her professionalism and compassion followed her as she rose to Deputy Director of Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry, touching countless lives along her path.
Janet's essence can be best understood through her enduring faith. A devout Catholic and Eucharistic Minister, her belief was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her in every step. She lived the teaching, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," a principle echoing the love and kindness she effortlessly spread.
She cultivated a vibrant garden of family relationships, which blossomed under her care. Remaining forever in their hearts are Robert, her steadfast husband; her loving daughters, Jennifer with husband Miguel, and Julie with husband Pete; and her cherished grandchildren, Ben, Catalina, Jade, and Miles, all of whom she adored and found great joy in guiding and nurturing.
Janet's life was a tapestry of moments spent cherishing her friends and family. Her gentle nature, combined with her keen intelligence, made her both a confidante and an inspiration to those fortunate enough to know her. As Albert Einstein once said, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." Janet's life was indeed a testament to these words, a truly worthwhile journey marked by selflessness and profound connections.
