

BIR, Albert F. “Skeets”, age 65 of Dayton, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born January 9, 1949, the son of Charles and Stella (Kleismit) Bir. Along with his parents, Al was preceded in death by his brother Chuck and wife Kitty Bir. Al was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country from 1968 -1972. After his military service, Al was a realtor and worked at and retired from General Motors, where he was a UAW representative. He was a member of the Polish Club and VFW Post 2800, where he had many friends whom he cherished. Al is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Krystyna; sons Michael Bir and Nate Bir (or Charles Patrick Bir if Al had gotten his way); sister Sandy Krimm and her husband Butch; brothers Joe Bir and Pat Bir and wife Sandy; Godmother Rose Ann Martin; and nieces and nephews Nancy Lucas and husband Leo, Tony Krimm, Chris Bir, Missy Bir, and Joann Costa and husband Brian. Albert also leaves behind many close friends, including Steve Bayer, Joe Ponte, Joe Kueck, Julie Crease, Edmund Sasak, and all of his card playing buddies. He will be missed by many. Visitation will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 624 Watervliet Ave., on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5PM to 9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11AM Friday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 1212 St. Adalbert Ave. at Valley St., with prayers at the funeral home at 10AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Join family and friends for a reception after the burial at the Polish Club, 1470Valley St, grab a beer and embellish on a story.
