

POHL, Anthony E. (Tony), age 85, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Bethany Village after suffering a long, debilitating illness with his family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Tony graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945, served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War, and worked as Foreman for Union Storage Company before his medical retirement in 1961. He enjoyed ramp bowling, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted fan of the Browns, Reds, and Buckeyes and was a member of the American Legion Post #598. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Devonne Young Pohl; son, Terry Pohl of Columbus; daughter, Denise Borns and husband Mike of Washington Township; three grandsons, Andrew Pohl of Columbus, Matthew Borns of Tucson AZ and Mark Borns of Columbus; two sisters, Lillian Shipwash of Dayton and Priscilla Willin and husband Ron of Englewood; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony M. and Pauline Pohl and sisters, Christina Kovacs and Mary Jane Seidenschmidt. Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Kettering, Ohio. Internment Calvary Cemetery.
