

GUIAO, Antonio M., MD. Age 85 of Dayton, passed away on November 6, 2011. Dr. Guiao was born in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines. He fought the Japanese during World War II, became a prisoner of war on January 1, 1945 until his escape on February 20, 1945. He was a proud graduate of Santo Thomas University and Manila Central University. Dr. Guiao trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1964 Dr. Guiao became a US Citizen. Dr. Guiao practiced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Dayton, Ohio at Good Samaritan, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Children's Medical Center until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society, the Dayton Surgical Society, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine from 1975 to 1991. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Lydia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and John Babilon, Barbara and Ralph Gabric, beloved grandchildren, Lily and Ralphie, and his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Lourdes and Rudy Soriano.
