Barbara Joan Fox

Barbara Joan (Mart) Fox, age 90 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2025. Born in Wilmington, Ohio, Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John P. Fox and leaves behind their cherished son, David Fox and beloved granddaughters Kristen Fox and Kacey Fox.

Barb worked at various jobs including Lowe Brothers, Brownberry Bread, Sears and Elder Beerman’s. Later she and John started Foxworthy Carpet Cleaning, which they ran successfully for many years.

Barbara’s life was filled with love, creativity, and a passion for bringing joy to others. She had a special gift for arts and crafts, creating beautiful ceramics and tole paintings which were often gifted to friends and family.

Known for her generosity and hospitality, she hosted countless gatherings over the years featuring her delicious cooking. It was also not uncommon for her to knock on a neighbor’s door with a plate of food or dessert to share. Her wonderful recipes and generous spirit will live on as treasured family memories and traditions.

In their later years, John and Barbara spent winters in Tampa, Florida. They were active in the church and their community at Down Yonder. They loved this time in the sun with their friends.

Barbara’s legacy of kindness, creativity, love and zest for life will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
