Bertha M. Dever

DEVER, Bertha M., born on February 10, 1923 and died peacefully surrounded by her family, on September 17, 2012. She is survived by her children, Judy (Jerry) Kennard of Dayton, Karen (Pat) McKenzie of Charlotte NC, and Darryl (Robin) Dever of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Steve (Lisa) Qvick, Brent (Kristi) Qvick, Jeff (Keri) Dever, Kristen (Matt) Curry, Meredith Dever, Blair Dever, Justin McKenzie, and Jocelyn McKenzie; six great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter. Bertha had worked at Lorenz Publishing House for 38 ½ years before retiring at the age of 59. She relocated to Columbus for nine years and worked part-time at Anthony Thomas Candy Store in Upper Arlington for three years. Upon returning to the Dayton area, she became active in several bridge clubs and euchre clubs, while also engaging in card activities at the Latherm Center in Kettering.
