

WHEELER, Bertram Rodney, age 85, formerly of Beavercreek, OH was freed from any pain and suffering on October 17, 2011 in Kettering, at home with his bride of 59 years, Winnie. He joins many relatives and friends who preceded him and is survived by his cherished wife Winola “Winnie” (Kimmel) Wheeler; and beloved children Cathy A. & Bob Becker of NC, Thomas L. Wheeler of CO, and Barbara Lynn Wheeler of OH; his nephew and friend Phil & Marty Bennett and his great nieces and nephews and their children. He also leaves behind friends, classmates and former business associates. Those who knew him will know that he will watch over all of us and his devoted schnauzer, Trinket. Bert was a graduate of Patterson Co-op (1944), and served in the Army Air Corps. He worked for many years for Snyder Concrete Products and in 1976 founded Suburban Door and Hardware. Bert was a lifelong member of Barbershop SPEBSQSA, now known as the Harmony Society, and sang with the Miami Valley Music Men. He had a unique sense of humor which will be celebrated by friends, family and The Miami Valley Music Men at Marion’s Piazza 50 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, on November 5, 2011 from 1 to 3 pm. He was also a member of the church choir. There will be a celebration of life at Hawker United Church of Christ at 7 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
