

LUNSFORD, Bessie (Potter), age 91 of Kettering, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the home of her youngest daughter, in Franklin, TN with her two youngest children, Carol and Tim, at her side. She was born on January 28, 1921 in McKee, KY to the late Marion and Myrtle (Moore) Potter. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Raymond (Ray) Lunsford in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest and Donald Potter; sisters, Daisy Tibbs, Dorothy and Pearl; and granddaughters, Karen and Courtney. She is survived by her sons, Dallas (Gloria), Paul (Sue), Harold (Sandy), Allen, Gary and Tim (Shannon); daughters, Deloris “Dee” Stamm, Lou Ford (Bill), Phyllis Howard (Bob), Barbara Blazek, Brenda Vore (Bob), Darlene Pickelsimer and Carol Blair-Harrill (GC); brother, Coleman Potter; sisters, Bonnie Fox and Janice Hurst; 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Diane Turner and Amy Mahaffee; and many other family members and friends. “Miss” Bessie was a stay at home mother and homemaker. After raising her family, she loved to travel and visited relatives and friends in the Carolinas, Florida, Arizona, Alabama, Tennessee and Las Vegas. She loved to talk about her family. Bessie was a long time member of Dayton Baptist Temple (Cornerstone). Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. with her nephew, Pastor Ron Sparks and long-time family pastor, Jerry Siler officiating with interment to follow in Beaver Cemetery.
