

PHILLIPS, Channing, an active, vibrant, and dedicated member of the Dayton, Ohio community passed away June, 04, 2012 after battling cancer for four and a half years. Her father, Charles George Schuler Sr., precedes her in death, as does her mother Ann K. Schuler, and brother Fred "Peanut" Schuler. She is survived by her husband Michael G. Phillips, son Justin Michael Phillips, stepson Michael Thad Phillips, stepdaughter Laurie Lynn Rose, brother Charles G. Schuler and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a volunteer for the "Look Good, Feel Better" program of the American Cancer Society, Southview Hospital, the Oak Tree Corner, and a remarkable force in the activity of the LUNGevity Foundation, for which she raised awareness about lung cancer and remains a hero to those who suffer from the disease, not only in Nashville, TN, but across the nation. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at SouthBrook Christian Church located at 9095 Washington Church Rd., Miamisburg, OH, 45342 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.; flowers or mementos are always welcomed, however, as stated above, since Channing was such an advocate for the LUNGevity Foundation, contributions can be made in her honor either the day of the memorial or online at:
