Cleaborn Ethridge Byrd

BYRD, Cleaborn E. “Clay”, age 74 of Dayton, OH passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011. Clay was born in Scott County, TN in 1937 and moved to Dayton, Ohio at age 19. He worked at Kroger and NCR, and for the past 26 years has been employed by the Voss Auto Network with the past 19 of those years being at Voss Village Cadillac. He was a member of the Huber Heights Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the Antioch Shrine. Clay also attended the Moraine City First Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Elmina Byrd; sons, Arnold Byrd & Kevin Parsons; father-in-law, Foye Rohler; brother-in-law, Lauzy Summer; and brother, Cleabert Byrd. Clay is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen Byrd; sister, Cleda Summer; uncle, Fairl Byrd; mother-in-law, Kathryn Rohler; grandchildren, Deborah Cromer, Jeff Byrd, Tony, Kyle, and Kevin Henderson; four great grandchildren; niece, Helen (Sterling) Marlar; nephew, Ronald (Pernie) Byrd; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Chris) Rohler; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm. The Huber Heights Masonic Lodge #777 will conduct services at 7:45 pm Tuesday. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the funeral Home. Pastor Glenn Sizemore officiating.
