Parsons, Curtis Oneal, age 97, of Fairborn passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the Traditions of Beavercreek. He was born in Grayson, Kentucky on November 14, 1921, the son of Walter M. Parsons and Ollie (Maggard) Parsons, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Maxine Ann (Wyrick) Parsons, in 1983, Florence (Coyner) Parsons, in 2008 and his brother, Charles E. Parsons. Curtis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rosella A. and Isaac E. Wimsatt; two grandsons, Curtis B. Wimsatt and Gregory A. Wimsatt; three sisters, Mary, Marlene, Lillian and a brother, Milton Parsons. He retired from WPAFB in 1974 and as the Manager of the Wright-Patt Rod and Gun Club in 1986. Curtis was a very active mason having joined in 1958 and was affiliated with Xenia Lodge #49, Fairborn Lodge #764, Beavercreek Lodge #753, Jamestown Lodge #352 and Cedarville Lodge #622. He was also a Member of Robert L. Williams Council #467, Allied Masonic Degrees, where he served as Secretary, Junior Warden and Past Sovereign Master. Curtis was also a member of The Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine and several other masonic bodies. He was a 50+ year member of Miami Valley Court #53, Order of the Amaranth, in Troy, Imperial Court #34, Order of the Amaranth, in Middletown, White Shrine #62, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, in Fairborn and Aldora Chapter of the Eastern Star in Xenia, OH. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road, with Masonic and Scottish Rite Memorial Services to follow at 7:00 p.m. The family request no flowers and that contributions in memory of Curtis be made to either the American Diabetes Association or a favorite charity.
