David was a graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School class of 1983. He was an avid athlete throughout his life, David thrived in wrestling and football during his high school years. David went on to follow in his father’s footsteps, working as a talented, efficient and effective tool and die maker, happy to share his knowledge with younger tradespeople.
In his early years, David often volunteered as a firefighter at Northridge Fire Department- Station 4 and Huber Heights Fire Department. David spent his free time working as a Jaycee, serving in many leadership roles for different chapters. Most notably, David spent most of his volunteer hours working haunted trails and concerts at Hara Arena.
Throughout his life, David had a deep love for music, often finding ways to enjoy and pass the love of concerts to his family. David was proud to have seen many bands, such as AC/DC, Queen, Train, Backstreet Boys, and even local artists at the Fraze Pavilion. His life of service, passion and devotion culminated in his love for his wife, two daughters, and grandchildren.
David was a fantastic father, utilizing his youthful spirit to create a magical childhood full of Hallmark Christmas’s, pools, playgrounds and even a water slide. David was active in his daughter’s life, often coaching their sport teams, instilling his strong work ethic, team commitment and love of sports. In his later years David’s life was centered around being a wonderful Poppie to Luca and Theo, passing on his love of amusement parks, pizza ,and the beach.
When asking his grandson’s some of their favorite Poppie memories, Luca recalled going to the Cincinnati zoo to see the animals. Theo stated his best memory was the recent March 2026 beach trip and swimming with Poppie. David’s vibrant personality was often showcased through his love of colorful shirts and rocking a “business in the front and party in the back” hairstyle multiple times in his life. His caring nature often led to reluctantly accepting his family rescuing many animals throughout his life. Yet throughout his childhood he was known for bringing home a duck, or two, from the Museum of Natural History.
