Donna Jackson

JACKSON, Donna Arlene, age 79 of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Dayton and Beavercreek, Ohio. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Williard and Irene Jackson, infant brother Eugene and dear friend Tim Abel. She is survived by her cousins Ed (Wilma) Stafford, Jane Hicks along with numerous other cousins and her Holy Family Church family. Donna graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1957 and graduated from Wilmington College with a bachelor’s degree in music. She taught school in Blanchester, OH schools, Centerville Schools and at Holy Family Elementary School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She sang with the St. Anthony Choir and with many other special choir presentations throughout the area. Donna enjoyed traveling; satisfied her love of horses while working on various horse farms in the area, going out to eat with her high school class, Bagel Bunch, and the Lohrey Recreation Center Swim Group. She loved to attend music festivals and especially enjoyed the May Festival held at the Cincinnati Music Hall. She was leader of the 4-H club at Holy Family for the Montgomery County Fair. A Latin Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, at the corner of 5th Street and Findlay, on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. Fr. George Gabet celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Dayton Children’s Medical Center in memory of Donna.
