Ashburn, Dorothy J. (Dot), age 92, passed away in her home Sunday, December 6, 2015 with family. Dorothy was born in Dayton and retired to Crossville, TN in 1978. She returned to Xenia in 2004 to be near family. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Herman Ashburn as well as her parents Pearl Rubert and Violet (Pickeral) Rubert. She is survived by her daughters: Judy Stewart of Crossville, TN, Lynda (James) Lee of Miamisburg and Roxan (Jenni Ruehl) Ashburn of Xenia; also surviving her are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren. A sister, Sandy Korman, also survives her as do numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Dorothy was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. She frequently volunteered with the Red Cross, Hospice of Dayton and her church. She was a nurse in Nuclear Medicine who retired from Grandview Hospital after 17 years. Dorothy is loved and will be missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 15th, at 5:00.
