Elaine was born on October 8, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating from Beavercreek High School, she landed her first job as secretary for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, later moving on to the mortgage business, where she found her passion for the next 40 years, from a closer to underwriting, she earned awards and trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. Elaine loved the beach, so these were great trips!
In 1962, she met and married Harold Williams and in 1965, their only child, Angela was born, whom Elaine called “Angie”.
When Elaine had Angie, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Elaine excelled at propping up Angie and supporting her through the many passions and difficulties in her life. She was an excellent gift giver, she especially loved Christmas, always knew the right thing to say and never missed a special date. Elaine taught Angie, by example, how to be a strong woman, and loved Angie with every fiber of her being. Later in life, when Angie met Duke, Elaine had peace knowing her baby girl would always be loved and protected.
Elaine also loved spending time with her sister, Judy. Their “Sister Days” were the highlight of many summers. They had a very special bond. Last but certainly not least, Elaine loved cats. She had Mittens, then later, her precious Chrissy. After Chrissy passed in 2014, Elaine adopted 2 cats from SICSA, Shakira & Shania, 6 months later, she adopted Sunny. She never thought of having multiple cats, but they gave her so much joy and happiness and were her constant companions.
When Elaine retired, she became passionate for scrapbooking and card making. Every card and verse were personalized. Anyone that received a card from Elaine, knew it was special and filled with love, humor and compassion. Her other favorite hobby was collecting anything Purple and everything Elvis Presley. She filled her home with music, warmth, kindness and love. We will miss her more than words can express.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Izetta Kommnick and brother, Don Kommnick. She is survived by her daughter, Angie Armstrong (Duke), sister, Judy Clark (Larry), nephew, Dennis Sturgill (Bev) and niece, Kristina Rishforth (Chris), as well as many friends, especially lifelong friend, Eva Novak (Ken) and dear friend, Marsha Scherr.
The family requests that donations be made to SICSA of Dayton or Alley Cat Allies. Flowers and notes are welcomed as well. There will be a visitation May 3rd from 5-8pm and followed by a service on May 4th at 10:30am at Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel. Following services a burial will take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. Officiated by Chaplain Ric Johnson.
