

Father and Friend, Edward (Ed) A. Molen, passed away peacefully January 27, 2024 at the age of 84. He is survived by Daughter, Tina Molen (Jason Thomas), Son, Ed Molen (Jacki Molen), Grandson, Gunnar Molen (Kelcee Molen), two additional Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchilden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L. Molen (2019)
Ed was born in Dayton, Ohio January 19, 1940. Graduate of Vandalia Butler High School, Capital University (B.A.) and University of Dayton (M.A) He served in the USAF from 1963-1966.
Ed was a Music Teacher for the Dayton Public Schools for 35 years and went on to work at the Dayton Masonic Temple for 20 years after his retirement.
Ed was involved in many charitable organizations. He belonged to the Dayton and Xenia Masonic Lodge as a 32 Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and Antioch Shrine. He was the 1998 Potentate for Antioch Shrine, Director of the Brass Band, and member of numerous Antioch clubs (too many to list!). He was also a board member of the Dayton Horse Show for over a decade.
Ed was passionate about music and the brotherhood of the Antioch Shrine and Masonic families.
The family asks that donations to Shrine Children's Hospital(Cincinnati and Lexington where he was personally involved) be made in lieu of flowers or other gifts, as this organization was very dear to his heart.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Edward will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM.
