

HEFFERNAN, Elizabeth Ann “Betty”, age 86 of Centerville passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at her residence. Betty was born November 9, 1928 in Geneva, New York to the late Thomas and Mary Alice Bolger Jennings. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Alfred J. Heffernan. She is survived by her sons, Donald A. (Kelley) Heffernan and Thomas J. (Amy) Heffernan; daughters, Amy (Jerry) Bruggeman, Nancy (Doug) Hanzel, and Jane (Larry) White; grandchildren, Matthew (Lauren), Megan, and Michelle Bruggeman, Katie and Drew Hanzel, Kimberly and Julie Heffernan, Cory Heffernan, and Alfred Joseph White; great grandchildren, Patrick and Charlotte Bruggeman; special cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends and neighbors. Betty was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School and Buffalo Hospital Sisters of Charity Nursing School. She was an avid Bridge player and a member of the Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary #598, and NAIM Group. She volunteered at Hospice of Dayton and St. Leonard. She leaves a legacy of her love for her Irish Heritage AND FAMILY. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429 and from 10:30 to 11:30 Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. Leonard Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, Ohio 45458, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
