Emily’s life was a celebration centered around her cherished family. She is survived by her sister, Paula Holler Davis, residing in Denver, Colorado, and preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann McDaniel, her first husband, Phillip ‘Barry’ Hanselman, and her second husband, Charles Cox.
Emily's legacy continues through her children: Phil Hanselman, Jr and his wife Connie of Del Ray, FL; Bart Hanselman and his wife Debbie of Tipp City, OH; Melissa (Hanselman) George and her husband Paul of Melrose, MA, and Mike Hanselman and his wife Robin of Denver, CO. She was also a beloved grandmother to Michael, Sarah, Kyle, Matt, Katherine, Jake, Denise, Rachel, and Gabby, and proud great-grandmother to Violet, Ruby, and Marielle.
Emily never took life too seriously and had an infectious sense of humor. She worked for many years at American Honda in Troy, OH, where she made many lasting friendships. She had a knack for embellishing stories with her interpretation of the facts. With a quick wit and clever comebacks, Emily could effortlessly turn any situation into an inside joke, often employing her signature brand of sarcasm. One of her joys in life was orchestrating family gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family and loved an occasional grand slam while playing Bridge. With Emily, life was a party with a big bowl of her special chip dip and lots of laughs.
She made a lasting impression on everyone she met, and her memory lives on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
