Eugene Crabtree

Eugene E. “Gene” Crabtree, age 86, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born in Dayton to the late Kay and Lucy Crabtree. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, June V. (Bertke) Crabtree whom he married June 15, 1946; sister, Juanita Gleadall; brother, Adrian Crabtree; several brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. Gene is survived by his daughter Connie (Mike) Jacobs; twin grandchildren Mark C. Jacobs and Michele C. (Scott) Gabree; great grandson Henry Jacob Gabree; sister, Elena Perry; a brother-in-law; sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. On his 16th birthday, he began working at Master Electric. He retired from Jorgensen Steel as Manager of Plant Operations in 1987. He was a charter member of the Falcon Club, a long time blood donor at the Community Blood Center, nominated for grandparent of the year at Miami University in 2004, and a former member of the St. Helen Credit Union Credit Committee. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Saturday February 28, 2015, at St. Helen Catholic Church with Father Dave Brinkmoeller officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Falcon Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Ron Steinbrunner, 6805 Willow Creek Drive, and Huber Heights OH 45424.
