Fran worked for the Army Air Corp in Washington DC from August 1942 until October 1945 (Pentagon). Al and Fran met at a USO dance in 1943 in Laurel, Maryland. During the dance they did a “Paul Jones” – girls marched in an inner circle – guys marched in an outer circle. When the music stopped you danced with whoever was opposite you. There were two soldiers in front of Fran, she chose Al. They were married October 20, 1945 in St. Francis Xavier Church in Washington DC, and honeymooned in Atlantic City. They lived in New York City for a little over a year then moved to Dayton, Ohio. Fran retired from the Social Security Administration in 1983. Al and Fran loved to cruise and travel, visiting children and grandchildren from New Hampshire to Alaska. If anyone is in heaven, Fran is! In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
