Gretchen "Grace" Loretta Vines

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Vines, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many during her time on Earth. Grace departed from this world on May 18, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

Grace was born on January 29, 1940 to her parents Ed and Laverne Felton in Little Rock, AR. From a young age, she displayed a remarkable zest for life, always eager to explore the world around her and discover new adventures. Her curiosity and passion for learning were evident throughout her life, as she pursued various interests and embraced every opportunity that came her way.

Grace's true essence shone brightest in her love of adventure and ability to live in the moment. She had an extraordinary capacity for empathy and compassion, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Grace’s friends and family were her greatest treasures, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her presence lit up the room, and her unconditional love brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to be in her life.

Beyond her many achievements, Grace possessed an adventurous spirit that embraced the beauty of the natural world. She found solace in the great outdoors, often immersing herself in nature's wonders. Whether it was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, her time serving in the Peace Corps in Ghana, immersing in the culture of new countries, or simply reveling in the serenity of a star-filled sky, Grace found a deep sense of peace in the embrace of the world.

Grace’s departure leaves an unfillable void in the lives of her loved ones. She will be forever missed by her daughters Leslye Vines and Audrey Buckman, granddaughter Page Buckman, life partner Tom Brunner, and a wide circle of family and friends. Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of all those whose lives she touched.

Today, as we mourn the loss of Grace Vines, let us also celebrate her remarkable journey and the profound impact she had on the world.
