

ARMSTRONG, Gwynedd Maureen, nee Rawson, born March 4, 1922, in Brisbane,Queensland, Australia to Edward and Kathleen Rawson. Married W. Frank Armstrong on January 22, 1944. Frank survives his bride of seventy years. Gwynedd was the mother of nine children, whom she loved unconditionally- Frank (Frances), Katie (Robert) Ellis, Sheilah (Douglas) Apple, Gindy (William) Schneller, Rev. Christopher, Loretto (Bruce Evans), Daniel (Eileen), Amy (Thomas) Smith and Campion (Jody); twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Gwynedd was God's gift to us as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Gwynedd entered eternal life with peace of heart on Friday, May 23, 2014. Gwynedd was preceded in death by her grandson, Douglas "Dougie" Apple, Jr., her parents and her sister, Sheilah Clouston. Gwynedd's sister, Beth Tully (Brisbane, Queensland) survives along with numerous Australian nieces and nephews. Mom gave all of us fond memories, especially in traveling to anywhere there was water and a beach. Gwynedd came to the United States as a WWII bride. She and Frank moved to Kettering in 1950. Gwynedd was involved with St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, her Bridge Club, the Lenox Lane Garden Club, the Dominican Retreat House and the Christ Child Society of Dayton. Visitation is on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 5PM to 8PM at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. , Dayton. The Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, May 29, 2014,at Noon, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Dayton. The Committal Service is Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11AM in the New St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati. Our family would like to thank all of Gwynedd's caregivers.
