
Harold Goldberg, age 95, of Dayton, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bertha Goldberg, two brothers, Benney and Jack Goldberg and a sister, Shirley Levin. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Margaret (Wince) Goldberg. His children also survive him: son David Goldberg of Kettering and daughter, Jo Anne and husband Niles Jay, also of Kettering. Two grandchildren survive him: Nila Certain and husband Scott and Robert Jay, all of Kettering, as does a brother, Morris Goldberg of Centerville and Sandra Davis of SC, as well as two sisters-in-law Barbara Goldberg of Trotwood and Lois Goldberg of Beavercreek and a host of nieces and nephews. Harold was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. Following his service he returned to Dayton and was employed as an engineer at the Hobart Corporation for 38 years until his retirement in 1981. He also spent fifteen years doing seasonal tax preparation at H&R Block. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of the funeral on Wednesday. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Greenmont-Oak Park Community Church; 1921 Woodman Dr. Dayton, OH 45420 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3797 Summit Glen Dr. Suite 100, Dayton, OH 45449 in Harold’s memory.
