

Age 79, of Dayton, passed away Nov. 3, 2015. He was born Jan. 17, 1936 in St. Henry, OH to Herman and Leona (Bertke) Hemmelgarn. After graduating from St. Henry High School, Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He moved to Dayton in 1965 to find employment that would foster his passion and talent for communication systems. He spent 18 years with Daycom Corporation, designing and installing communication systems in hospitals, universities, airports and companies throughout the Dayton area. The last 19 years of his career were devoted to designing and managing international communication systems for Procter & Gamble as a Sr. Systems Analyst until his retirement in 2002. Harold was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Janice (Schoen); son Michael Hemmelgarn (Michelle) of Springboro; daughter Sharon Little (David) of Madison, WI; daughter Patricia Hicks (Brian) of Beavercreek; nine grandchildren; and sister Marlene Kremer (Ernest) of New Bremen. You are welcome to join family and friends for a viewing from 10-12 am Tuesday, Nov. 10th at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, followed immediately by a memorial service.
