BUTLER, Harry A, age 88 of Huber Heights passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Laurel’s Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Dorothy Butler, his sister, Maxine DeArmond, his brother Bobby, brothers-in-law, Don Marcum, Howard DeArmond and Ed Domsitz. Harry is survived by sisters, Joyce Domsitz and Judith Marcum; brother, James & wife Patty Butler; devoted niece and caretaker Linda DeArmond, 2 cousins, 19 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews, Mary & Cathy and other friends at the Laurels. Harry was a very special person. He had many adversities throughout his life, but he met the challenges and accomplished many things. He excelled at playing checkers and bested 99 percent of his opponents. He loved playing cards, and to the end was an astute “Rum” player. He made thousands of pot holders, which most family members still use daily. Because of his loving parents he traveled through most of the states, and visited Canada and Mexico. He rode bicycles, played baseball, learned numerous board games, and had his favorite radio and television shows. Until very recently he could remember the birth dates of his grandparents, his parents, his aunts and uncles, his sisters and brothers and all nineteen of his nieces and nephews. Those of us who knew Harry feel our lives were enriched by having shared all those wonderful hours with him. Open arms without doubt, will welcome him into Heaven. Funeral services will be held 12 (noon) Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Tobias Funeral Home – Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave, Dayton with interment to follow at Beavertown Cemetery. Friends may call 10 am – 12 (noon) on Saturday at the funeral home. Thank you to the Laurels of Huber Heights and Hospice of Dayton.
