Harry Joseph Giambrone

Harry, Joseph Giambrone, age 96, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on February 3, 1925 to Anthony and Virginia (Silvestri) Giambrone in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and a grandson Cristian R. Giambrone He is survived by his wife of 71 years, MaryEllen (Breig) Giambrone; his children – Kenneth Giambrone (Janet Hansen), Mark Giambrone, Celeen (Giambrone) (Attia Khrestian), Cynthia (Giambrone) Daughtery, Ronald Giambrone (Mae Marquez); grandchildren – Tiffany (Whiting) Sims (Shawn Sims), Justin Whiting (Gwendolyn Larrow), Daniel Whiting (Kimberly Lysaght), Conner Daughtery, Alexander Khrestian, M.D., Maria Khrestian, Angela (Khrestian) Sorbello (Joeseph Sorbello), Trevor Giambrone, Augustino Giambrone, Cristian Giambrone – preceded in death; his great-grandchildren – Tristin Sims, Jacob Sims, Ellie Whiting, Milo Whiting, James Whiting, Harry Whiting; numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was a graduate of Chaminade High School. He married MaryEllen on June 17, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. Harry served in the Army in World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1951 with a Fine Arts degree. He began his career as an industrial designer, working in Chicago for Jack Morgan Associates. Upon returning to Dayton, he opened his own design firm, “Harry Giambrone Associates,” in 1960. He was a member of IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America) until his retirement. He was a faculty member of the Dayton Art Institute and taught industrial design from 1962-1968. Services for Harry will be: visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 12 at Tobias Far Hills, 5471 Far Hills Avenue. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, September 13 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
